地生或半附生植物，地下具细长而横走的根状茎；根状茎直径2-3毫米，有少数稍肉质而被毛的纤维根。叶基生，二列，5-7枚；叶片长圆形，坚革质，长6-12厘米，宽1.8-2.3厘米，先端急尖或有时具弯缺与细尖，上面有深浅绿色相间的网格斑，背面有密集的紫色斑点并具龙骨状突起，边缘有细齿，基部收狭成叶柄状并对折而套叠。花葶直立，长15-28厘米，淡紫红色与绿色相间，被褐色短毛，顶端生1花；花苞片卵状披针形或卵形，长1.3-1.8厘米，淡绿黄色并有紫红色斑点，稍被毛；花梗和子房长3.5-4厘米，被白色短柔毛；子房有6条钝的纵棱；花大，直径7-9厘米，纯黄色，仅退化雄蕊上有浅栗色纵纹；中萼片卵形或卵状披针形，长2.2-4.8厘米，宽1.4-2.2厘米，先端近急尖，背面近顶端与基部具长柔毛，边缘具缘毛；合萼片与中萼片相似，长2-3.5厘米，宽1.2-2厘米，先端钝而不裂，背面具长柔毛并有2条钝的龙骨状突起，边缘具缘毛；花瓣大，宽卵状椭圆形、宽卵形或近圆形，长2.8-5.3厘米，宽2.5-4.8厘米，先端急尖或近浑圆，内表面基部具白色长柔毛，边缘具缘毛；唇瓣深囊状，近椭圆状球形或宽椭圆形，长4-5厘米，宽3.5-4厘米，基部具短爪，囊口近圆形，整个边缘内折，但先端边缘较狭窄，囊底有白色长柔毛和紫色斑点；退化雄蕊宽卵形或卵圆形，长1-2厘米，宽1-1.5厘米，先端急尖，背面具钝的龙骨状突起。花期2-4月。 【引自：中国植物志】
